South County Briefings

15 May 2019

Goodwill Industries of San Diego County’s CEO, Toni Giffin, was recently featured in the “Meet our Members” section of the South County Economic Development Council‘s South County Briefings newsletter.

Toni Giffin, CEO

Why did you join South County EDC?
To expand my knowledge of the South County region which has been my home for over 20 years. The people of South Bay have been strong supporters of Goodwill and it has been a major area of expansion for Goodwill San Diego’s Social Enterprise and Employment Services for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment.

In addition, it is my desire to become acquainted with the amazing professionals who are members of the Council and share the mission and services of Goodwill.

The best thing that has happened/I have learned, experienced, enjoyed is…
I would have to say, meeting Cindy has been a highlight! She is so willing to share her wealth of information and help connect me to the right people. Through the Council’s speakers and programs, I have also gained knowledge into many of the opportunities in South County, learned about plans for expansion in their early stages, and met wonderful people who have helped me navigate the many programs and services in South County. All of which was invaluable as I stepped into my new role as CEO.

Fun fact about you:
My plan was to be an artist. I don’t have a lot of time these days to create art, however, I find my ability very helpful in designing new programs and initiatives to expand Goodwill San Diego.

Life goal:
As hokey as it sounds…to live a life of significance, loving and giving without measure.
